Jerico gets a dentist – 1909

Dr. W. T. Neale works with a patient in this series of photos likely taken shortly after he opened his practice in Jerico in 1909. The photos are from the collection of Dr. Neale’s grandson, Dr. Bill Neale.

William T. Neale spent a portion of his boyhood with relatives in Jerico. He later lived in and cleaned another relative’s dental offices in Kansas City, where he developed an interest in dentistry. Shortly after he graduated dental college and returned to Jerico in 1909 and set up a practice, the following story appeared in the Jerico Springs Optic’s special Jerico promotional issue of Dec . 17.
